So Much Better Than the Original Stanley Remote Control June 3, 2010 Keith Heapes (Racine, WI USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When we bought our home, there were two Stanley garage door openers installed. The openers worked fine, but the two Stanley remote controls were insanely aggravating. They would only work some of the time, the plastic case eventually cracked and the large gray button would depress and stick, which kept the opener running, up and down. Finally, they both broke completely.
I went on-line to replace them and the company offered to upgrade the Stanley replacement to a Digi-Code 5012 Remote Control for the same price. They even threw in free shipping. When they arrived, it was obvious that the Digi-Code 5012 was a huge improvement over the standard Stanley control. As the picture shows, it is encased in a tough black plastic case with a smaller thick plastic button. Some assembly was required, which couldn't have been simpler to complete. Now all I do is just touch the button and presto! up goes the door, first time, every time. I've had these controls for over two years and they are just a reliable and look just as sharp as the first day they were used.
It's such a pleasure when a produce truly exceeds your expectations. The Digi-Code Remote Control 5012 is that kind of product.
Great replacement opener May 25, 2010 Joel F. Orton (Clinton, NJ United States) After being held together with duct tape for years, my Stanley remote garage door opener of 10+ years (already installed when we bought the house 10 years ago) finally died. Afraid I would have to replace the whole assembly, I was pleased to find this replacement remote online. In addition to being a great value, it couldn't have been easier to put into use. Inserting the battery (provided with the unit), it was ready to go - no need to figure out the code to match the unit with the opener. I highly recommend this device.
Digi-Code Garage Door Control December 23, 2009 Alan L. Garton This product worked very well, it was easy to program to my quite old garage door opener code, and has good range and clipped easily to the visor of my car.
perfect replacement July 30, 2009 M. Friedman (Long Island, NY) The digi-code 5012 works well. I t is fully compatible with our garage door opener system (STANLEY) that is quite old. It is light in weight and small in size and is the right price. I highly recommend it.
Opens the gate, that's all that matters! July 7, 2009 M. Weaver Bought this remote so that I could open the main access gate where I work. After I programed the code into the remote and tested it, it worked perfectly.
