My replacement Genie garage remote didn't work. It wouldn't program. I have programmed a remote before so I know I did it correctly. My garage door opener was manufactured after 1995 as suggested for this compatable remote. I spoke with customer service for Genie and they didn't recognize the model # of the remote I received from Sanford and Son. They walked me through all the steps again to program the remote and it still didn't work.

Intellicode opener remote July 14, 2010
Know your opener
Easy to program. Purchase the GIT-1 Remote only if the side of your motor head says Genie Intellicode or Overhead Code Dodger. If your motor head does not say Genie Intellicode or Code Dodger, this opener will not work. Your current remote should look like the one in the picture or have the following numbers on the back of the current remote: GIC90-1, GIC-1, OCDT-1, GIT90-1, ACSCTG Type 1, ACSGT, ACSGT Type 1, ACSCTO Type 1.

Genie GIT-1BL One-Button Remote Control with Intellicode. I purchased two of these remotes. Both were easily programed and both worked for about two weeks. After that only one of them worked. A 50% success rate is unacceptable. I tried to rate at zero stars but the site requires at least one star to review the item.

So glad I bought two of these as my husband keeps losing them. I get a good savings and can now open my garage door again!!!! Product arrived on time and worked just like the original. It even comes with batteries.
