Product Description
Do you hear your Chamberlain motor running but the chain is not lifting your door? It's probably your gear. To verify, remove cover off of motor head and and you see white shavings, the gear is your problem. You must apply a low temp lithium grease to each tooth of the new gear or it will shred within days.

Replaced the worn geardrive in a 12yr old 1/2hp Craftsman opener. Took about 45mins. Hardest part was removing old split pin holding gear to shaft. I didn't change the worm gear on the motor,it looked OK. Door operates perfectly now.

My garage door failed to open. After taking the cover off i discovered a straight cut gear with no teeth. The worm gear looked perfect. I ordered the gear and put it in and the opener is quiet and as good as new. If your worm gear looks good just buy the straight gear only and save money. They are so cheap i bought one to have on hand next time.

This is a perfect replacement gear for the 1984 and up Chamberlain, Sears, Liftmaster chain drive garage door openers. The drive assembly is easy to remove, disassemble, clean, lubricate, put back together and reinstall. My opener runs smooth as silk, just like new.
