Product Description This Liftmaster 973LM is equivalent to the Sears Craftsman 139 model number listed above. The back of your garage door opener motor should have a SMART button that lights up an Orange/Amber Color LED Light to code the remote. This is a Security Plus remote that is a 1 channel/button transmitter, compatible with models manufactured from 1997- present. It operates on a 390 MHz Frequency, and has over 100 billion codes with code rotating technology (Security+). A visor clip and Lithium battery (5 years life with normal use) are included, along with instructions. Compatible with ALL Security+ systems, including Chamberlain, Sears, Craftsman and Raynor code rolling residential openers. The corresonding wireless keypad is the 976LM wireless keypad for Security Plus 390MHz garage door openers.

Just as described June 5, 2010 J. T. MANCINI (OHIO) Works, but different buttons for opening and closing. Also, size could be smaller. Otherwise, it serves the purpose. Bought for spare.
Perfectly satisfactory replacement for Craftsman April 26, 2010 James E. Dunning (Irvine, CA USA) Why not go this way when your old Craftsman remote retires? Far less expensive than Sears, and certainly as serviceable. I was apprehensive about "cross platform" setup, but one press of the "learn" button on the opener and we were up an running. Should ergonomics be of concern, I believe the feel of the Lift-Master button is better than the Craftsman.
poor construction March 16, 2010 James O'neill (central NY) This remote is of poor, cheap construction. It doesn't work unless pointed out a window. It feels lighter than the older ones we have, and it is nearly impossible to get to the battery without chewing-up the plastic.
Worked like a charm February 13, 2010 TMC I just rec'vd my remote and it worked perfectly. One touch of the motor system button and then the remote and I was in business. I plan on buying another one as a spare.
Sears Craftsman Model 973LM February 12, 2010 Wayne Brown The original remote for my Craftsman garage motor is model:139.53753 . This remote was not available online, but the write-up information said that this 973LM remote was equivalent and will work. Well it turned out that it does not work. Additionally I am seeing on the installation leaflet that the set code button on my motor must be orange. My button is purple.
