 More than two hands to program September 3, 2010
Never easy
I had only one opener and needed one more. I needed then to transfer the configuration from the old one I had to the new one. The instructions make it appear very simple: connect the 3-pin connector to both, press the button of the good one first, then the button of the new one.
Well, the 3-pin header has no place to connect at all on either one. There are some pads on the board of the opener on both sides. You need to be careful with the orientation, then press hard the header onto them. Since to make a good contact you need to press with your thumb and index and you have two sides (two remotes) then you need both hands. After you got the "connection" accomplished you need to press the buttons for which you need another two hands.
If you don't have another pair of hands to use (friend, spouse) then I guess you can solder the header, do the programming, and unsolder it. I didn't want to take a chance of breaking the pads from the board.
Otherwise it does work as advertised.

Had a tenant lose the garage door opener so bought this to replace. Works great! Only downside is it doesn't give instructions on how to link to opener when you don't have another one. Marantec M3-2312 2-button Garage Door Opener Remote (315 MHz)

This opener replaced a New England Door brand opener and works great. Looks the same as the original but less costly. It has the three pin plug-in adapter that allows it to copy the code from other openers so programing it is easy.

I hang this remote from a hook on the side of my garage. It makes getting in and out of the garage quick and easy, far more convenient than the old combination keypad I used in the past.
