This product worked well and solved my problems of randomly failing to close (especially after a thunderstorm).

Great service - product arrived 4 days after I ordered it.

5 out of 5 stars Worked great for us   March 23, 2010

I don't know what the other writer was talking about, this kit did include the wire, brackets and instructions. I did not need all of that, but ordered it since I did not know for sure what was wrong. I did trouble shooting at [...] and it said the box with the green light was broken, so we replaced that one first and the thing started working again. It was pretty cool not to have to keep trying things, it just worked right away. We kept the other one in case that one goes out later.

5 out of 5 stars Simple and easy to install   February 16, 2010
L. D. Estrada-Salazar (El Paso, TX USA)
When we bought our house the garage door would open but it wouldn't close unless I held the wall button until the garage door hit the floor. After doing some research online I found out that this problem was associated with the beam sensors and sure enough, when I checked them, no light was shown on either one; so I bought this beam-sensors-kit on Amazon.

The kit comes with plenty of cable included; my old cable looked in good condition but I just decided to replace the whole thing (and still had left over). It took me less than 30 minutes to install the sensors and cables. The provided instructions are more than enough for you to know how it works and how to install. When placing the brackets I just used the holes in the wall from the previous brackets (had to use the brackets that came with the kit because they were different from the previous ones I had). I went with the option to wire the green sensor to the red sensor and then from red to head unit because that is how it was before I replaced the old ones; so I ended up with two sets of cables in the red sensor, one running to the green sensor and the other to the head unit. Worked right after everything was connected and power was back on.

Can't beat the price and I see no difference in performance compared to the orignal part. (Genie 35048R safety beam sensors)
