Old sensors stopped working when cold February 26, 2010

In south Florida "cold" means below 60 degrees, so we normally had no problems. Several times this winter the garage door wouldn't close without holding the wall mounted switch down, but the next day everything would be fine. Turns out the sensors were going bad and the lower temperatures pushed them to failure. These replacements are easily installed, all you need to do is unplug the door opener, cut the old wires, remove the old sensors by taking out the mounting bolt (only one wrench is needed), connect the old wires to the new sensors by stripping the ends and clipping on the included pushbutton wire nut, and remount the sensors. The kit does not include the mounting bolt so don't throw that away. This is a do it yourself project that anybody can do. The sensors worked perfectly, its like having a new opener.

Great replacement sensors. I thought they were a little pricey but now having a garge door that works is priceless. Took 5 minutes for me to install but I am somewhat handy. Tools needed were wire splicer and wrench to re-connect mounting bolts.

It works great the 1st time we put it in place of the old sensors. The old ones light intensity had been very low and flickering. We could not close the garage door using the remote control. We had to manually force the door to close.
The garage door works like a charm again with this pair of new sensors.
