Key chain garage door remote July 23, 2010 Dan F. Wonderful experience! The remote control key chain FOB for the garage door opener , was shipped in a timely manner and works perfectly with a surprisingly long range.
I have the garage door opener with the "orange" learn button and the remote control programmed easily following the enclosed directions.
Searching - ordering - paying - receiving this product was very straight forward and pleasant, along with fast shipping.
Works Great! July 22, 2010 Phunkeydude Pick this mini remote up to put on my keychain for my Jeep Wrangler that always has the doors off. I did not want to leave a remote sitting in the open vehicle. This mini remote works great and has better range than the original remotes.
Oops, there goes the dang door again! February 6, 2010 PenaltyShot (CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is one of those kinds of products that normally doesn't warrant much of a review. After all, it's a garage door opener remote. It's small, it's cheap, it hangs from a keychain, it has three buttons that you can program, it works at an acceptable range, the battery life is long, and, well, it successfully opens your garage door.
But this device, and all other devices like it, have one fatal flaw: I'm a guy. I keep my keys in my pocket. This thing has easy-to-press, protruding buttons. See the problem yet? The buttons are constantly being pressed by other things in my pocket, or the keys themselves, or sometimes by just the crease in my jeans when I sit down or move.
OK, granted, that's not a problem when I'm more than 80 feet away from the garage door -- except that all that extraneous button-pressing eventually runs down the battery. I probably use up a good amount of battery life when I'm hiking with my keys in my pocket, for example. But if I'm in or around the house (or even down the street a bit) and forget to take my keys out of my pocket and lay them down somewhere, I'm opening and closing doors when I don't want to.
I would be a simple problem to fix -- just provide some sort of flip cover, or sliding cover, akin to what a cell phone has for preventing unwanted button presses. But I've never seen a garage remote that is designed like that. Stupid flaw, but a big one for me that demands a three-star penalty.
Totally Awesome January 31, 2010 John J. Waino These remotes are so much better than the originals. I was going to change my lock because the original remotes were always breaking. Lucky for me I found the Chamberlain Mini 3-Button Remote Control 956CB on the internet and decided to try one and am I ever glad I did. They have a longer range than the originals and are built so much better. I surely recommend this product to any one in need of a great remote.
Great Idea but has a problem January 16, 2010 J. V. (Apollo Beach, FL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Unit worked great and improves security over a button left in the car that could be stolen.
One big problem however, is the door can open without you knowing if you carry the unit in your pant pocket, or even handling the unit laying it down on the dresser etc. it needs a delay time of a second on pushing the button so just bumping the button in your pocket etc. doesn't open the door without you realizing it.
